Have you ever tried to make a change to your health? Bought all the books, done the research but failed to make progress? You’re not alone.

Our journey as sisters and health coaches has been one of discovery, passion, and continuous learning. We started in the world of nutrition and exercise, always eager to explore the latest tools and lifestyle tweaks that might enhance well-being. But over the years, one truth has become undeniable—our lifestyle choices, what we do over and over every day,  are the foundation of our health.

This isn’t just personal experience; it’s backed by science. Research shows that non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity account for over 70% of deaths worldwide. Our daily habits around diet, movement and stress play a crucial role in their development. While most of us now know this, why do we find it so hard to do enough about it?

Working with hundreds of clients, a clear pattern emerged. We might understand that change is needed but we struggle to actually do it. Our behaviours are shaped by our thoughts, feelings, and stress responses. It’s easy to assume that knowledge alone leads to change, but if emotions and stress aren’t addressed, new habits rarely stick.

That’s why we created The Emotions Lab—to explore this missing piece of the puzzle. Understanding our emotions isn’t just about mental well-being; it’s the key to sustainable health and longevity. By recognising how stress, self-talk, and emotional triggers influence our choices, we can create lasting change—not just in our physical and mental health, but in our relationships too.

If you’ve ever struggled to maintain a healthy habit, you’re not alone. And it’s not because you lack motivation or discipline—it can be because you are not prepared for the emotional change that will occur when you start. Often, we are behaving in ways we do to avoid feeling something uncomfortable and we don’t think about this before we start. True well-being isn’t just about surface-level solutions; it’s about understanding the emotional roots of our health.
