The Emotion Potion

The children’s book we couldn’t find, so we wrote it

When our children were small, we searched everywhere for a book that could explain feelings, one that didn’t just name emotions, but showed children what to do with them.

We couldn’t find it.
So we created it.

This book helps children understand that feelings aren’t something to fix or fear, they’re messages from the body that can be felt, processed, and released.

Meet Bear, Owl, Rabbit and Fox đŸ»đŸŠ‰đŸ°đŸŠŠ

Join Bear, Owl, Rabbit and Fox as they gently guide children through some big emotions using simple, playful tools:

  • Tapping

  • Breathing

  • Movement

  • Connection

  • Noticing how feelings show up in the body

Through story, repetition, and co-regulation, children learn that emotions move, and that they have choice in how they respond to them.

Rooted in science. Written for real life.

Our approach is grounded in the science of:

  • Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

  • Functional breathing

  • Movement and nervous system regulation

  • Co-regulation and connection

These evidence-based tools help to:

  • Reduce stress and overwhelm

  • Promote calm and emotional safety

  • Improve focus and readiness to learn

  • Support emotional regulation, especially for anxious and neurodivergent children

All in language children can understand, and parents can trust.

More than a story, it’s a skill for life

This book doesn’t just tell a story.
It teaches children how to recognise, process, and transform big feelings, through the body, not by thinking differently.

Part of The Leadership Method

This book is a resource within The Leadership Method, our programme for mums who want to understand emotional regulation in themselves so they can transform anxiety in their children.

Because children learn when the adults around them lead the way.

A gentle starting point for calmer days

Whether your child experiences worry, big reactions, shutdowns, or overwhelm, this book offers an accessible way to begin conversations about feelings and build regulation skills that last.
